All about me.

Born in Canada and raised in England, I write well but I sure sound funny. Despite a grammar school education and numerous elocution threats from my mother, I speak neither the Queen's English nor that of my home and native land. I'm a hybrid, plain and simple.

The good news is that in 1995 I began to make my living as a writer, not a speaker, so today my fingers do most of the talking. What do they like to talk about? All kinds of things – from big-brand beverages, fashions, pet foods and household goods to financial services, commercial printing and B2B opportunities with some of Canada’s largest media players.

Those fingers of mine are fast-talkers, too. So fast that they were once awarded a black leather binder for typing a record-breaking 131 words in one minute. How's that for a claim to fame?

But that was long before I supported agencies and clients with freelance copywriting services; before I helped to drive advertising sales for Canadian Business magazine; before I got my new media feet wet at Yahoo! Canada; before I sang the praises of The Body Shop; and before I told my fellow Canadians that Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus was finally available as a board game.

Writing aside, it has taken me two cats to discover that I'm a dog lover, and one husband and child to learn that there's simply no room in my life for a dog. I like to drink red wine, eat fancy food and laugh out loud with friends. And I met my husband by placing 25 words in NOW magazine. Just imagine what I could do for your product or service with 50.
