Me.Born in Canada and raised in England, I write well but I sure sound funny. Despite a grammar school education and numerous elocution threats from my mother, I speak neither the Queen's English nor that of my home and native land. I'm a hybrid, plain and simple. The good news is that in 1995 I began to make my living as a copywriter, not a speaker, so today my fingers do most of the talking. What do they like to talk about? All kinds of things – from big-brand beverages, pet foods, breakfast cereals and home appliances to healthcare, condo living, financial services, and everything in between. Those fingers of mine are fast-talkers, too. So fast, they once earned a prize for typing a record-breaking 131
words in one minute. But that was long before writing beckoned me; before I began
to apply my strategic thinking to the needs of small businesses, and advertising and communications agencies; before
I had the privilege of collaborating with the marketing executives, creative directors and entrepreneurs I’ve
met over the last decade and a half. Copywriting aside, I’m drawn to puppies like magnets, I’m partial to red wine, and I rarely decline the opportunity to eat posh food. My brothers count on me to call when I have Mac questions, my friends count on me for laughs, usually at my expense, and my clients count on me for service with a smile. Now, what about you?
